Fishing Regulations

Limits & Creels

Fishing in Alabama inshore saltwater offers the opportunity at many different species of fish.  Planning what to fish for and knowing the rules of limits and creel will help you enjoy your trip even further.  It is also helpful to only keep what you can knowingly consume and want to clean.  Many local guides keep speckled trout only between 14 & 16 inches (total of 5 per angler) and do not keep any redfish.  This is because the older fish do the majority of the spawning and it takes them a really long time to mature.  Also, the smaller trout are easier to clean and taste better!
